A legislator from Galveston County is advocating for more stringent regulations on businesses that purport to sell Gulf shrimp.
In November, State Representative Terri Leo Wilson introduced House Bill 749, aimed at mandating restaurants to inform customers about the origin of the shrimp they serve, whether it is domestic or imported. The 2025 legislative session commenced on Tuesday and is set to run until June 2.
